I created this project on a university campus in 2018, photographing students—each with their own distinct character and unique way of seeing the world. In the prime of their youth, they radiate confidence and strength. This striking individuality became an unforgettable image for me during my time on a European campus.

They stand on a podium before a vast glass window, with the city and streets unfolding just beyond. The world inside and the world outside are both clearly visible, yet separated by this thin layer of glass. It is precisely this barrier that, like a shield, allows us to express ourselves more freely.
